From the Missourian: Santa to answer phone for holiday wish lists

COLUMBIA — This weekend, children will be able to call the North Pole and tell Santa, the elves or Mrs. Claus what they want for Christmas.

On Saturday, children from age 3 to 10 can call the holiday hotline anytime from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Public Information specialist Tammy Miller said the Columbia Parks and Recreation Department has hosted the hotline for at least 10 years.

"Hopefully, it's just a fun thing for kids to do," Miller said. "A fun way for the kids to celebrate the holidays."

Children will be able to reach the North Pole at 874-7473 or 874-6335.
